The Security and Exchange Board of India was set up in 12 April 1992 by Government of India acceptance with provision of the SEBI Act 1992. The Preamble of the SEBI is "...to protect the interests of investors in securities and to promote the development of, and to regulate the securities market and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto". It is the statutory regulatory body in India.

SEBI (in Hindi Bhartiya Pratibhuti evam Vinimay Board) recruits personals to appoint the employees in various grades in the SEBI headquarter and offices. In this time SEBI is going to advertise a notification regarding to the vacancies in SEBI for the Officer-Legal Stream in grade ‘A’ posts.  Total two vacant posts are to be filled through this recruitment on contract basis. Initial contract period for the appointment is one year which may vary.

Pay Scale:        The incumbent will get Rs 17100-33200/-. Presently, a gross emolument at Mumbai at the minimum of this scale is approx Rs. 64,000/- p.m. without accommodation and Rs. 44,000/- p.m. with accommodation.

Qualification:   Educational qualifications for the Legal Officer ‘A’ should be Bachelors in Law from a recognized university or LLM with minimum 55% marks

Age Limit:        27 yrs as on 31^st Aug 2012.

Application Fee:           Application fee is Rs 500/- for the General and OBC category and Rs 50/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates. Examination fee can be submitted through Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of ‘Securities and Exchange Board of India’ and payable at ‘Mumbai’ only. Interested candidates belonging to non banking area (where bank is not available) can pay their fee through crossed Indian Postal Orders in favour of ‘Securities and Exchange Board of India’ payable at ‘GPO, Mumbai’.
