Orissa Public Service Commission (officially spelled Odisha, in Hindi उड़ीसा) has recently released a notification for the Recruitment of Assistant Engineer (Electrical) in Class-II (Group-B) of Odisha Engineering Service under Department of Energy, Government of Odisha. Applications are available in online mode.

There are total 38 vacancies for the post of Assistant Electrical Engineer, in which 09 vacancies are for unreserved categories, 03 vacancies are reserved for Schedule Caste (SC), 11 vacancies are reserved for Schedule Tribe (ST), and 15 vacancies are reserved for Socially/ Educationally Backward Classes (S.E.B.C.). Out of these vacancies one third of the vacancies from each category is reserved for women candidates.

Selected applicants will be placed in the pay scale of Rs 9300-34800/- with Grade Pay of Rs 4600/-. Other allowances will also be given with salary.

Educational Qualification: All the Indian citizens who have either graduated from Electrical Engineering (EE) disciplines or a member of Institution of Electrical Engineer or hold a degree from following disciplines (See image by Clicking on)-

Age Limit for the eligibility of the candidates is between 21 to 32 years as on 1^st Aug 2011. Age relaxation is also applicable for reserved categories as per rules of government.

All the candidates have to pay Rs 300/- as application fee/ examination fee before applying for AE. SC/ ST of Odissa domicile are exempted from the payment of the fees. The fee is paid through State bank of India (SBI) payment slip (Challan).

Selection method would consist of written test followed by interview.
