Recruitment of Executive Trainee in Electrical Engineering through GATE 2014

PowerGrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) is a central public sector enterprise under the Government of India. PGCIL is under the Ministry of Power and the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) and has Navratna status awarded by government of India. PGCIL is also working for Telecom National Long Distance (NLD) operator & Internet Service Provider with about 25000 Km Optical Fibre Network. Power Grid Corp is carrying 50% workload of power generation and transmission of electricity of India across the nation.

As earlier years, this year too PGCIL is going to recruit the Executive Trainee (ET). PGCIL has announced, by releasing a short advertisement cum notification, that recruitment will be done through GATE-2014 organized by IITs. The vacant posts of executive Trainee/ Management Trainee (MT) are in the disciplines of Electrical Engineering (EE). 

Powergrid will accept GATE-2014 score card for the initial recruitment in place of written test. This year there will not be any written test for ET profession. After short listing from the GATE 2014 score card candidates may undergo a group discussion (GD) followed by Personal Interview (PI).

It should be noted that from this year PGCIL and some other PSUs like HPCL, BPCL, NTPC, BHEL and IOCL, GAIL etc is also using GATE 2014 score card for the appointment of the Graduate Engineers Trainee (GET)/ Management Trainee (MT). 

Educational Qualification:

Executive Trainees will be placed in the initial pay scale of Rs 24900-50500/-pm as salary. Other incentives and allowances are also applicable as it is a group ‘A’ post. Candidates must be in the maximum age group of 25 years.

Interested candidates are requested to appear for GATE-2014, without which you can’t participate in the recruitment process of HPCL and some other PSUs.
