MECL Vacancy for ET and Officer through GATE 2014

Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (MECL) was set up by Government of India as a central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Ores and Mines. MECL’s head office is located at Nagpur. MECL has executed more than 1246 projects and has 146125 MT of ores and mineral reserves across the nation. Mainly it is working and mining the minerals and ores related to Coal, Lignite, Bauxite, Copper, Gold, Lead-Zinc, Iron Ore, Limestone, Manganese, Magnetite, Chromites, and Fluorspar.

From this year as other PSUs listed bellow is initiating its recruitment exercise with the help Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineers 2014 conducted by IITs. MECL has issued the notification for this purpose. The recruitment is for the appointment of Engineer Trainees (ET) and Officers in various grades and departments. The vacant posts of Management Trainee (MT) are in the disciplines of Geology, Geophysics and Mechanical and Chemical Engineering.

MECL will recruit for total - posts in which - posts are for Geology and Geophysics Officers and remaining - posts are for Mechanical Engineer Trainee.

MECL will accept GATE-2014 score card for the initial recruitment in place of written test. This year there will not be any written test for ET profession. After short listing from the GATE 2014 score card candidates may undergo a group discussion (GD) followed by Personal Interview (PI).

It should be noted that from this year MECL and some other PSUs like HPCL, BPCL, NTPC, BHEL, IOCL, GAIL  and PGCIL etc is also using GATE 2013 score card for the appointment of the Graduate Engineers Trainee (GET)/ Management Trainee (MT). 

Executive Trainees and Officers will be placed in the initial pay scale of Rs 16400-40500/-pm as salary. Other incentives and allowances are also applicable as it is a group ‘A’ post. Candidates must be in the maximum age group of 28 years.

Interested candidates are requested to appear for GATE-2014, without which you can’t participate in the recruitment process of HPCL and some other PSUs.
