ICICI Bank-Manipal University Probationary Officer Program for Nov 2012 and Feb 2013 Batch


ICICI Bank, India’s largest private sector bank has started its guarantied recruitment process of Probationary Officer for the November 2012 and February 2013 Batch. This is a very opportunistic program initiative taken by ICICI Bank. All the young, talented candidates who want to make his career in Banking Sector can apply for the posts. ICICI bank had started this program in 2007, since then about 5700 students has taken part of this. ICICI Bank has taken this step with the joint venture of Manipal University of Banking and Finance.

About The Programme

It is a one year full time residential training programme, conducted at ICICI Manipal Academy campus, Bangalore wherein, applicants have to be honored with the degree of MBA in Banking and Finance from Manipal University. This program is divided into two phases-


First phase which will be of 9 months on-campus classroom training & 3 months internship in ICICI Bank. Upon successful completion of this phase, participants are awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking (PGDB).

The second phase is optional which will be of 18 months online training program, in which students will be taught about managerial skills. After successfully completion of this phase candidates will be honored with MBA in Banking and Finance by Manipal University.

Selection Process

The selection process for Probationary Officer will consists of
  • Online Aptitude test
  • Online Psychometric Assessment
  • Case-based Group Discussion (GD)
  • Personal Interview (PI)
The last three processes will be only for those who clears the written online test.

Fee of the Training Programme (Read carefully)

The Probationary Officer Training Programme is totally free of cost for the students. To pursue the Probationary Officer Training Programme, the students will have to invest Rs 3.35 lakh (including applicable service tax) which would be provided by ICICI Bank as a loan at a subsidized interest rate of 2.5%. p.a. This is the fee for the first phase of the PGDB programme. The fee for Phase II is an additional amount of Rs 1.25 lakh. This will be paid by students who opt for this phase. After completion of the Training Programme, the Probationary Officers will be absorbed as Assistant Manager in the Bank. The loan is to be repaid by Probationary Officers in equated monthly installment (EMI) after joining the Bank. There would be no recovery of EMI or interest during the training and internship period, the interest accrued during this period would be recovered along with the normal EMI. The EMI is spread over a period of 60 months to ensure that there is minimal impact in the monthly earnings of the Probationary Officer. However, if the applicant leaves during training or within five years of joining ICICI Bank after training, ICICI Bank would recover the principal and the interest at market rate on the entire loan amount for the period that the amount was given as a loan to the Probationary Officer.

About Rs 4.00 Lakh per annum

Eligibility and Qualification

            All the candidates who have completed his graduation in any discipline with minimum 55 percentage marks in final degree and born not before Nov 1st 1987(25 years as on Oct 1st 2012) will be eligible to apply for the programme.

The Aptitude Test is likely to be held in July 2012 followed by Group Discussions/Interviews in
August/September 2012 for the applicants who clear the Aptitude Test.

    Did all the PO trainee shall be given appointment at ICICI bank as Asst. Manager, Band I. Is there any rules and regulations for this ?
